What stands out

  • About 85,000 taxis nationwide could be hailed through the app as of December 2025, with 35 million cumulative downloads as of February 2026
  • Turned profitable for a full year for the first time in the year to May 2025, and both revenue and operating profit rose sharply in the year to May 2026
  • At partner taxi operators in the ten main prefectures, only 26% of rides came through the app in the year to May 2025, which the company treats as room to grow

What could go wrong

  • There was no new share issue at listing. Every share offered was sold by existing holders such as DeNA and NTT Docomo, in a large offering. Watch supply once the lock-up ends, 360 days for the largest holder and 180 days for other major holders
  • Stock options worth about 8.6 million shares were outstanding at listing, and exercise would dilute the value of each share
  • Net profit of 8.8 billion yen in the year to May 2026 includes a one-off boost of 3.4 billion yen from recognising deferred tax assets, so it looks larger than the underlying business

About the company

Runs GO, a taxi-hailing app in Japan that can dispatch from a network of about 85,000 taxis nationwide.

How it makes money

When a user hails a taxi in the app, a car from a partner taxi operator is dispatched and the company earns a booking fee. Around that it also earns from in-car payments (GO Pay), video advertising on the tablets in taxi back seats (TOKYO PRIME), in-vehicle terminals sold to operators, and taxi vouchers. In the year to May 2025, app dispatch was 43.2% of revenue and these related services 43.5%, roughly half each. Its corporate service GO BUSINESS had more than 15,000 contracts as of March 2026.

Where growth is meant to come from

In the year to May 2026, revenue was 41.4 billion yen (up 31.8%) and operating profit 7.0 billion yen (up 158.1%), with 115.44 million rides dispatched through the app and average monthly active users of 3.11 million. For the year to May 2027 the company plans revenue of 48.5 billion yen and operating profit of 13.0 billion yen, by raising the booking fee per ride and investing toward robotaxi service under its partnership with Waymo of the United States and Nihon Kotsu.
