What stands out

  • Owns both the LIPPS hair salon chain and the LIPPS BOYS men's cosmetics brand
  • Revenue of 4.41 billion yen and net profit of 650 million yen in the year to August 2025 were both company records
  • Shareholders with 100 shares or more receive a coupon usable at the company's own online store

What could go wrong

  • For the year to August 2026 the company forecasts revenue of 4.75 billion yen but net profit of 490 million yen, down from 650 million yen the year before
  • Beauty and cosmetics trends move quickly, and a fall in the brand's popularity would hit both product sales and salon franchising
  • The company has paid no dividend since listing and forecasts none for the year to August 2026 either

About the company

A men's beauty company that develops and sells hair and skincare products and runs the LIPPS men's hair salon chain as a franchisor.

How it makes money

It has two sources of revenue. The first is its product business, planning hair styling, skincare and makeup items under the LIPPS BOYS brand and selling them through drugstores and variety stores nationwide as well as its own online store. The second is its salon franchise business, where it acts as the franchisor of the LIPPS hair men's salon chain and earns income from franchisees. Stylists who build their own following also act as the brand's voice, so product awareness and salon traffic reinforce each other. The company had 48 employees at the end of August 2025, excluding part-timers.

Where growth is meant to come from

The strategy is to widen the distribution of its products while using the franchised salon network to build brand awareness. In the year to August 2025 revenue reached 4.41 billion yen and net profit 650 million yen, both records for the company. For the year to August 2026 it forecasts revenue of 4.75 billion yen and net profit of 490 million yen, so sales are expected to grow while profit falls below the previous year.
