What stands out

  • More than 12.74 million registered workers and more than 417,000 registered business locations at the end of the year to October 2025
  • Revenue grew about 2.1 times in two years, from 16.1 billion yen in the year to October 2023 to 34.3 billion yen in the year to October 2025
  • Net profit of 5.31 billion yen in the year to October 2025, about three times the 1.80 billion yen of the year to October 2023

What could go wrong

  • Results depend heavily on staffing demand and the economy in its main sectors, such as logistics, retail and restaurants
  • Changes to labour regulations or to the rules around short-term gig work could affect the business
  • Competition from other gig-work apps could affect its fee rate or advertising costs

About the company

Runs Timee, a gig-work app that matches people who want to work with shops, logistics warehouses and other businesses that need staff, for shifts of a few hours with no interview.

How it makes money

Businesses such as logistics warehouses, retailers and restaurants pay Timee a fee linked to the wages they pay workers (a base rate of 30%), while workers use the app free of charge. At the end of the year to October 2025 it had more than 12.74 million registered workers and more than 417,000 registered business locations, and gross merchandise value (the total value transacted through the app) for that year was 117.2 billion yen.

Where growth is meant to come from

Besides expanding into sectors such as nursing and social care, it is broadening its business with a full-time job placement service that draws on workers' track records and with Sukima Works, a contractor for logistics warehouse operations that it made a subsidiary in August 2025. It moved its year-end from October to April, so the year to April 2026 was an irregular six-month period with revenue of 21.0 billion yen. For the year to April 2027 it has given a forecast range of 47.6 to 48.8 billion yen in revenue.
