About the company

Builds high-definition 3D map data used by self-driving and driver-assistance vehicles and for training AI, and licenses the right to use it.

How it makes money

It builds 3D data recording road shapes, signs and other features to the centimetre, and licenses it to carmakers for installation in production vehicles and, as "Data for AI", to carmakers and major semiconductor makers for training and testing AI. Licensing revenue, earned from the right to use this data, was 2.59 billion yen in the year to March 2026, about 46% of revenue, with the rest mainly from project work such as building data under contract. About 74% of revenue comes from overseas.

Where growth is meant to come from

Its data now covers more than 1.8 million km worldwide, and with new data building in major regions largely finished, it has moved into a phase of supplying and updating data. It plans to grow the higher-margin licensing business while cutting fixed costs, including staff reductions at its North American subsidiary. For the year to March 2027 the company forecasts revenue of 7.0 billion yen (up 23.1%) and adjusted EBITDA (a profit measure that adds back depreciation and other items to operating profit) of a 50 million yen profit. It has not published a forecast for net profit or loss.
